Ishrat was only 19 when she was shot dead in what has become one of the most controversial and contested fake encounters in the contemporary Indian history. Nine years on, she has come back to haunt the national ambitions of modi and his bunch of cronies. Bjp is playing victim to the hilt and is trying to polarise the politics on this issue. There is little doubt that when push comes to shove, modi will play up raw Hindu emotions and try to obfuscate the issue. While the country awaits to see how this episode unfolds in the courts, one fact stands out, ishrat has a story to tell and we better sit up and listen.
